Today the ABA place called and spoke to me about Tylers goals over the phone. We are now in month #3 that we have been waiting to get someone in here. He will be getting 12 hours a week (which is all we have available for time since they don't do weekends). But they have to find the therapists now to do it.
Tyler had a very scary episode on Sunday morning. He woke up complaining his heart hurt and beat to fast. His heart rate was high and a few minutes later he collapsed going up the stairs. He then tried to drink a pediasure and vomited. It took 2 hours for his heart rate to come down. Yes I did call the oncall doctor. They said to massage his artery in his neck and if his heart rate went over 140 to head to the hospital. Thankfully it stayed just under that. After the episode he was FINE and has been since.
Today he went in to follow up on the episode and they are gonna do an echo cardiogram on his heart on Thursday to be safe. One of his medications has a very rare but serious side affect that can affect the heart so they wanna make sure it all checks out. But it is highly unlikely that anything is wrong and that it was just some fluke episode, or dehydration or a panic attack.
Tylers negative behaviors are on the rise again. We feel this is the result of the medication. We are going to give it more time this time around though to see if his body adjusts. His autism behaviors have been VERY prominent and it is making socializing with peers VERY difficult. The ABA therapy can't come soon enough.
