This morning I woke up and had a kindergartner in my house. How did that happen!!! Where did he come from????
So I found out they messed up the busing and are fighting me tooth and nail. They want Tyler to wait at a regular bus stop to hop on a short bus (short buses are for the spec ed kids). Last year Tyler was picked up at our house, as all spec ed kids are suppose to. But a short bus can't get down our road so they had to send a minivan. Tyler can NOT wait at a bus stop on a busy road. He can tell you, factually, that traffic is dangerous, but when he's IN it, he is oblivious and very unpredictable.
So they are saying that there is no minivan scheduled to go to his school so he can't take one. I have been fighting for two days. As it stands, we are trying to get it on his IEP so it has to be followed. They told me it is seemingly a "small" issue (in regards to getting it onto the IEP) so I am hopeful. She did say she can't promise anything. They were fighting because they (his new school) didn't realize he was on a minivan the past two years. So, I have some hope. Until then I will be bringing him to and from school which is going to be tough but I'll do what I can.
So I brought Ty in today. Here he is this morning getting ready to head out the door:
And here he is in the car ready to go (sorry I have no idea why the font color changed):

Parents were not allowed to go back to the classrooms with the kids so this was the end of the road for pictures. Here he is lined up after his name was called with all the other kindergartners in his class in front of his head teacher:
I brought him to the cafeteria where he had breakfast. Thankfully the kid loves the school muffins! Who woulda thought!
He was really interested in everything that was going on around him:
I was told he gets 3 specials a week. Tomorrow is gym :)
I am not thrilled with the meal times. He eats breakfast at 8:45, snack at 10 and lunch at 11:45. That's 3 "meals" in 3 hours and then nothing for the other 3 hours. I wrote a note wondering if they were aware of this. I doubt there is anything they can do since they have a set schedule.
Anyways, I still have stuff to share about my boy. Like going to the fair! And our Maine vacation! So sit tight, it will come! Eventually.......
